Kitzbuhel Horn Alpine Walk and the Thurn Pass

Thursday 25th May - We headed off the short distance to Zitzbuhel via St Johann in Tirol. At Kitzbuhel we boarded the Kitzbuhler Hornbahn 1, cable car for the ride to Pletzeralm (1270m) the middle station where we changed to the Kitzbuheler Hornbahn 3, Aerial Tram to the Horn Summit (1996m) or (2000m) at the top of the TV tower. Then we were taken by our excellent guides, Astrid and Roger for a walk with magnificent views in all directions which took us through the Alpine Flower garden and gradually down to the Alpenhaus for our Brettljause Lunch of Cheese and and smoked meats. We then went down on the Kitzbuheler Hornbahn 2 to the middle station, changing to the Hornbahn 1 for the final descent. Later we went on a scenic tour over the Pass Thurn back to Fieberbrunn.
